My Work
I create imagery using leather as my canvas, embedding metal studs by hand to build each design from the ground up. Every piece is hand-punched, hand-dyed, and carefully tooled—no machines, no shortcuts. The process is slow and deliberate, allowing texture, pattern, and light to emerge through repetition and relief.
Working in leather gives each artwork a physical presence—there’s weight, depth, and a gritty texture that invites you to look closer. The metal studs reflect light differently as you move around them, giving the surface a dynamic, almost animated quality. From a distance, the image forms clearly. Up close, you see the thousands of individual decisions and actions it took to create it.
My goal is to merge fine art and craftsmanship into something that feels raw but refined—something you don’t just see, but sense. I want the viewer to experience the tension between the precision of each stud and the organic feel of the leather. The result is part sculpture, part drawing, and entirely handmade.
